Bihar braces for Ganga overflow, safety measures announced for eight river districts

The Ganga River’s water level is climbing rapidly across Bihar, raising concerns of a possible overflow. According to the latest projections by the Water Resources Department, the river may cross the critical danger threshold at Gandhi Ghat in Patna tonight, setting a new record high. Mokama (Handi-dah) is also slated to breach historic levels by midday on September 4.

In light of these developments, the Disaster Management Authority has issued a specific alert for eight districts. Residents of low-lying areas and those living on riverbanks are urged to stay on high alert and plan for rapid evacuation if required.
