Amidst the approaching Bihar assembly elections, the political climate has intensified following the use of offensive language against PM Modi’s mother. The BJP called for a Bihar bandh (shutdown) on Thursday to protest, while the opposition dismissed it as ineffective. RJD spokesperson labeled the shutdown a complete failure, stating that the public of Bihar has understood the BJP’s plot to create a narrative against RJD and Congress based on unfounded claims. Here’s a look at the significant news from Bihar’s politics.
**1. Hindustani Awam Morcha’s National Convention in Delhi:**

He said that the central government, at the behest of PM Modi, had ordered PACL to close down the company without returning the investors’ money. Whereas, in an affidavit, the CBI had stated that Rs 49,100 crore of investors was deposited with SEBI.
**3. NDA Mahila Morcha’s ‘Bihar Bandh’ Against ‘Mother’s Insult’:**
The five-hour Bihar bandh called by the NDA Joint Mahila Morcha against the use of indecent remarks and insults against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother from the stage of Congress and RJD in Darbhanga was completely successful. BJP state president Dr. Dilip Jaiswal, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and office bearers and workers of the NDA Mahila Morcha also took to the streets and protested.
In Patna, near Income Tax Golambar, office bearers and workers of the BJP Mahila Morcha took to the streets with flags from the morning. These women workers raised slogans against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. A large number of women workers reached with banners and posters and sat in the middle of the road.
**4. PK Attacks Bihar Bandh, Says No Impact:**
Prashant Kishor, the proponent of Jan Suraaj, reached the Kinjar High School ground in Arwal’s Kurtha assembly constituency on Thursday to hold a Bihar Badlav public meeting as part of his Bihar Badlav Yatra. After addressing the public meeting, he spoke to reporters and termed the NDA’s Bihar bandh today as ineffective. He also targeted NDA leaders regarding the problems faced by the public. Prashant Kishor said that the public is not with the BJP’s bandh. It has had no impact. The crowd that gathered at the public meeting in Arwal today proves this. Earlier, the Mahagathbandhan had also called a Bihar bandh. On that day too, there were two public meetings of Jan Suraaj, in which more than 20,000 people came.
He said that many people faced problems during the Bihar bandh. Vehicles have been stopped. This is the character of these leaders. This is their way of leadership. But the people of Bihar have now got an alternative. The public wants change this time. Wants to get rid of Lalu-Nitish and Modi. Regarding the statements of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Prashant Kishor said that on Tejashwi calling CM Nitish the father of moral corruption, PK said that when Tejashwi Yadav talks about corruption and good governance, it is like a lion talking about being vegetarian. These people themselves have been symbols of corruption.
**5. BJP Workers Proved They Are Running Goonda Raj in Bihar:**
CPI-ML state secretary Kunal has said that the actions and character of BJP workers have once again been exposed today, and they have proved through their actions that goonda raj is going on in Bihar. However, the good thing is that in many parts of the state, the Bihar bandh called by the BJP workers was not only rejected by the public, but also directly opposed.
During the bandh, BJP workers openly abused former Congress President Sonia Gandhi and used abusive language against the leaders of the India alliance, displaying their old and familiar character. They stopped ambulances for pregnant women, assaulted footpath vendors at several places, and misbehaved and abused female teachers.
**6. BJP Leaders Chandan Singh and Sonu Gupta Join RJD:**
In the presence of RJD State General Secretary Ranvijay Sahu at the RJD state office in Bihar, Chandan Kumar Singh and Sonu Gupta, along with their supporters, resigned from the BJP and joined the RJD, in the presence of MLA Manoj Kumar Yadav and other leaders. **7. Bihar Rejects BJP’s Shutdown:**
RJD state spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan has said that the Bihar bandh called by the NDA has been completely rejected by the general public of Bihar, and it has proved to be a backfire for the NDA. RJD spokesperson, terming the bandh as completely unsuccessful, said that the people of Bihar have well understood the BJP’s conspiracy to create a narrative against RJD and Congress based on baseless things. The BJP had already realized this. That’s why the duration of the bandh was reduced from 7 am to 12 noon, whereas the duration of the bandh is usually for the whole day. Normally, any market and shop opens only after 10 o’clock. Offices and educational institutions also remained open today like normal days. The traffic situation also remained normal.
