Two Kids Left in Auto in Bihar, Mother Reportedly Flees With Partner

In a case that has shocked people across Bihar, a woman is accused of leaving her two young children in an auto-rickshaw before going missing with a man she is allegedly involved with. Her husband has also alleged that she took jewellery worth around Rs 22 lakh.

The woman had travelled by train to Chhapra Junction along with her son and daughter. From there, she boarded an auto-rickshaw headed to Baliya Mod, located within the Manjhi police station limits of Saran district.

Waiting for a mother who never came back

Upon reaching Baliya Mod, the woman asked the auto driver to watch over the children. She then walked away. Bystanders initially thought she had only gone away briefly. However, as hours passed without her return, suspicion grew among the driver and local residents.

The abandonment of two young children in an unfamiliar place caught the attention of everyone nearby. Consequently, local people informed the police.

Tracing the father

After questioning, police managed to locate the children's father, Amit Singh. He is a resident of Pandeypur in the Baria police station area of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh. According to him, he married a woman from Navada village in the Raghunathpur block of Siwan district about six years ago, and the couple has two children.

Amit Singh was worried when he learned that his wife and children could not be found. Later, he came to know that the children had been found at Baliya Mod, following which he reached the Manjhi police station.

Father moved as he meets children

The police team from Manjhi station proceeded to Baliya Mod and took custody of the two children. During questioning, the children stated that their home was in Pandeypur, Ballia district. Officials then tried to contact their relatives.

When Amit Singh arrived at the station and saw his children unharmed, he was visibly moved. He also disclosed that his wife had allegedly run away with her lover after taking jewellery worth Rs 22 lakh.

Police probe continues

Authorities are currently examining all dimensions of the case. Several crucial questions are yet to be answered, including the woman's whereabouts, the truth behind claims of a relationship with another man, the reason for leaving the children in the auto, and the credibility of the allegations about the jewellery.
