Questions have once again been raised about the functioning of the government system in Bihar. Following the recent case of a residence certificate issued in the name of a dog in Patna’s Masaurhi block office, another strange incident has come to light from Motihari district, leaving everyone shocked. In Kotwa block of the district, some mischievous elements misused the online system and applied for a residence certificate under a fake name.
According to reports, Bihar has been witnessing a series of bizarre incidents in the past few days, with residence certificates being issued in various fake names. This time, the application was not in the name of a person, but rather in the name of ‘Sonalika Tractor,’ a well-known tractor company.
The application listed the father’s name as ‘Swaraj Tractor’ and the mother’s name as ‘Kar Devi.’ Furthermore, a picture of Bhojpuri actress Monalisa was attached to the application. Other details such as police station Chhauradano, Motihari Sadar sub-division, and the mobile number 9876****** were also provided. This is a complete fraud, which has raised questions about the seriousness of the government process.
After the matter came to light, Motihari Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat immediately took action, directing the Kotwa police station to register an FIR and arrest the culprits. An investigation is also underway to determine from which cyber cafe the application was submitted. Will any action be taken against that cyber cafe as well?
According to the administrative process, the concerned officer himself inspects the given address on any application for a residence certificate. The certificate is then issued based on the report. In this case, the vigilance of the zonal office employees prevented the certificate from being issued. This incident has definitely raised the question of whether the monitoring system is adequate regarding the online process? And will strict action be taken against the negligent employees in such cases?
