Bhagalpur’s NH-80 has become notorious for traffic congestion, with the stretch between Kahalgaon and Ghogha facing regular jams. BJP MLA Pawan Kumar Yadav was observed directing traffic on foot to alleviate the situation. A video of the incident went viral on social media, showing the MLA interacting with a citizen who inquired about the reason for his presence. Yadav clarified that he was not stuck in the jam but was actively working to clear it. He mentioned that he was traveling from Patna to Kahalgaon at 7 AM and encountered the traffic. In the video, the MLA also urged people to maintain single-file driving to prevent congestion, noting that drivers often use multiple lanes, contributing to the gridlock. This incident followed a previous instance where the MLA was stuck in a jam on NH-80 near Trimuhan, and he had to hitch a ride with a biker to reach Bhagalpur Court. At that time, he had criticized the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the contractor. The MLA has previously expressed frustration over the persistent traffic issues, stating that he had repeatedly voiced his concerns to no avail. He was traveling from Kahalgaon for an NDA workers’ conference in Bhagalpur, but the traffic forced him to abandon his vehicle and proceed on foot.
