Child Succumbs to Snake Venom After Anganwadi Staff Sends Him Home Alone
A tragic loss unfolded at an Anganwadi centre in Patna district when a five‑year‑old boy, Ishu Kumar, was bitten by a snake during a midday break. After the bite, the child reported the injury to the Anganwadi assistant, who, according to the family, chose not to call a doctor or emergency services. Instead, the assistant instructed the boy to walk the roughly 50‑metre distance back to his house. Ishu arrived home without medical aid, informed his mother, and was subsequently taken to a nearby religious site for traditional cleansing before being rushed to three separate hospitals. All medical teams confirmed his death, prompting the family to accuse the centre’s staff of negligence and demand accountability.
