Addressing a public gathering in Ara, Chirag Paswan declared his intention to contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, stating he will compete in all 243 seats. He responded to queries about his participation, confirming his candidacy. Paswan emphasized his commitment to strengthening the NDA alliance and stated that his goal is to ensure the NDA’s victory. He framed his campaign as being ‘for Bihar’ and left the decision of his constituency to the people.
Paswan also criticized the RJD and Congress, holding them responsible for the ‘jungle raj’ era. He highlighted the government’s recognition of Karpoori Thakur with the Bharat Ratna. Furthermore, he commented on Rahul Gandhi’s allegations against the Election Commission, suggesting that Gandhi was already looking for excuses for defeat. He criticized the accusations of election fixing and the questioning of EVMs, viewing them as signs of pre-emptive acceptance of loss. Paswan also reiterated that he is not eyeing the Chief Minister’s chair, and that his participation would aid the NDA by improving the party’s success rate.
