Five Armed Men Raid Darbhanga Residence, Bind Daughter-in-Law, Loot Jewellery and Cash

A frightening raid took place in the village of Darhar, part of the Bahadurpur police jurisdiction in Darbhanga, when five armed men broke into a doctor’s house on Thursday evening.

The intruders quickly overpowered the occupants and focused their violence on Karishma Devi, the 22‑year‑old daughter‑in‑law, who was present with her 18‑month‑old baby. They beat her, cut her hair, tied her hands and feet and injected a sedative into her back, ensuring she could not resist.

Turning up the TV volume to silence her cries, the thieves combed through three chambers, forced open two large wardrobes and made off with gold and silver ornaments worth roughly five lakh rupees, together with cash of ₹35,000.

Police arrived at the scene after the incident was reported, sealing off the area, collecting forensic samples and reviewing CCTV footage from the neighbourhood. A dedicated team has been deployed to track down the suspects, who are believed to have fled the village shortly after the robbery.
