Delhi Police Probe Bihar Congress Over AI Video Post on X

The Delhi Police is accelerating its investigation into a social media post associated with the Bihar Congress. The Special Cell has served a notice on Bihar Congress functionaries, asking them to appear for questioning in relation to an FIR registered last year.

The notice was affixed on Sunday at the Bihar Pradesh Congress headquarters, Sadakat Ashram, in Patna.

State Congress spokesperson Asit Nath Tiwari confirmed the notice. He said a functionary attached to the party's IT cell has been directed to present himself before the Counter Intelligence Unit of the Delhi Police Special Cell on November 5 at 11 am. The party, he said, is deliberating over the matter.

Police Seek Account and Phone Records

The functionary's mobile number is registered with the official X handle of the Bihar unit of the party. Under Section 94 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, the notice requests information about the SIM card and the management of the X handle. Investigators have also asked for details of all mobile phones in which the SIM card was used.

Additionally, police have requested a list of persons authorised to run the handle from July 1 to December 31, 2025, along with Call Detail Records (CDR).

FIR Related to Alleged AI Video of PM Modi

The notice is connected to an FIR filed on September 13 last year at the North Avenue police station in Delhi under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The Bihar Congress has been accused of posting a controversial AI video depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother. The video was allegedly posted or shared from the party's official handle, @INCBihar.

The Delhi Police is examining the operation of the account and the mobile numbers linked with it.
