In Patna, Bihar, a Scorpio vehicle struck three police officers during a vehicle inspection, resulting in the death of a female constable. Two sub-inspectors were also seriously injured and hospitalized. Following the incident, the police apprehended the two individuals in the car. During questioning, the suspects revealed their motive for accelerating towards the officers instead of slowing down.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at Patna’s Atal Path, where police were conducting checks. When officers signaled a Scorpio to stop, the driver instead drove into three officers. The impact severely injured three police personnel from the SK Puri police station, including SI Deepak Mani, ASI Avdhesh Kumar, and Constable Komal.
The injured officers were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where Constable Komal was pronounced dead. Upon learning of the incident, Patna SSP Avakash Kumar promptly arrived at the scene and arrested the two suspects. The arrested individuals have been identified as property dealers Nikhil, Ankit, and Kuldeep. Another suspect, Raja, remains at large. Nikhil and Ankit were arrested immediately after the incident.
Kuldeep was apprehended the following day. The Scorpio was driven by property dealer Nikhil, who also owns the vehicle. The other occupants were also in the car. During police interrogation, Nikhil and Ankit stated that they had been regularly visiting JP Ganga Path in their Scorpio for several days. They were frustrated with the repeated vehicle checks, and this frustration led them to drive into the police officers.
