An ongoing anti-corruption drive in Bihar has led to a raid on the residences of DSP Sanjeev Kumar, stationed in Jehanabad. The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) conducted the raid following allegations of accumulating assets exceeding his known sources of income. The investigation centers around the suspicion that Kumar has amassed over 1.52 crore rupees in assets beyond what his earnings would allow. The SVU has filed a case against DSP Kumar, and the investigation is ongoing across multiple locations, including Patna, Khagaria, and Jehanabad. The raids were led by officers of DSP rank to ensure effective execution of the operation. Authorities seized documents related to a luxurious building, ten trucks, and multiple bank passbooks from Kumar’s properties in Khagaria. The valuation of the seized assets is underway. Additionally, the operator of a private hospital, which is run from Kumar’s residence, was also asked to provide documents. The SVU’s actions have sent ripples through the police department, highlighting the commitment to curb corruption within the force.
