Dubai Call Demands ₹10,000 Raises New Questions in Shaili Rani’s Disappearance

A puzzling phone call from Dubai has added a new layer of intrigue to the ongoing murder investigation in Patna. According to Manoj Kumar, Shaili Rani’s cousin, the call claimed that Shaili had secured a short‑term loan of ₹10,000 and that the lender would pursue legal action if the amount was not repaid.

Shaili, a 20‑year‑old TPS College student, was reported missing on October 5 after leaving home to complete paperwork at the National Institute of Technology. Her disappearance prompted a missing‑person filing at Kankarbagh police station, but she remained untraceable for four days.

On October 9, two bodies were found on the railway tracks in Kumharar. One was positively identified as Shaili; the other belonged to an unidentified young man. The father, Sanjeev Kumar, has publicly alleged that his daughter was murdered and her remains were dumped on the tracks.

Police have taken the bodies for post‑mortem analysis and are reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity. They have also begun to extract Shaili’s call‑detail records to verify the authenticity of the Dubai loan claim.

The Dubai call has prompted investigators to explore a possible financial motive or a fraudulent scam that may have intersected with Shaili’s disappearance. Until forensic and digital evidence is fully examined, the connection remains speculative.
