A major accident occurred in Saran, Bihar, when a speeding pickup van overturned. The vehicle’s tire burst, leading to the crash. Five people died in the accident, all reportedly from the same village. The pickup truck was loaded with corn. The incident caused widespread panic in the area.
According to initial reports, a tire on the pickup vehicle blew out near the Bajitpur Four-Lane road in the Nayagaon police station area of Saran district, resulting in five fatalities. The vehicle was transporting corn from Dighwara, Saran, towards Hajipur for processing when the tire burst near Bajitpur, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to overturn.
Approximately 25 people were traveling in the vehicle.
The accident resulted in the deaths of five people, including one woman, while several others were injured. Chaos erupted at the scene following the incident, with some people trapped under the van. Local residents immediately rushed to the scene to assist and rescue those trapped. All the deceased are from the same village and have been identified.
Injured individuals were taken to the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Anju Devi, 48, wife of Raj Kumar Pandit of Dighwara; Radhika Devi, 50, wife of Raju Baitha; Sonu Kumar, 23, son of Shrawan Ram; Rajlaxmi Kumari, 15, daughter of Panchu Ram; and Shivam Kumar, 7, son of Rambabu Ram. Local police arrived at the scene after being informed of the incident. All the injured were taken to Sadar Hospital in Hajipur for treatment. After initial treatment, two individuals were referred to PMCH for further care. The police have initiated further investigations.
