In Khagaria district, Bihar, a female ASI and a watchman were apprehended by a vigilance team for accepting a bribe. The ASI demanded a bribe from a victim in exchange for expediting the investigation of a case and submitting the charge sheet. The victim lodged a complaint with the vigilance office, prompting the team to take action. A well-planned operation led to the arrest of the two individuals involved in the bribery.
Anil Kumar Shah’s wife, a resident of Rajajan village in the Nagar police station area of Khagaria district, had filed a case in the Sadar police station related to a bank loan. ASI Seema Kumari was investigating this case. The officer initially demanded 10,000 rupees, which later increased to 20,000 rupees, for investigating the case and filing the charge sheet. Watchman Veeru Paswan was also implicated in the bribery. The victim, Mamta Devi, informed her husband, Anil Shah, about the situation.
