Health services at Patna AIIMS were disrupted on Friday as resident doctors refused to work, protesting alleged misconduct by Shivhar JDU MLA Chetan Anand. A case of assault and misbehavior has been registered against both the MLA and AIIMS staff. Police are reviewing CCTV footage. The incident occurred when MLA Anand visited the hospital with supporters to see a patient. He alleged that AIIMS guards misbehaved with him, leading to a written complaint. The City SP confirmed the registration of cross-complaints involving physical altercations. The Resident Doctors Association (RDA) has demanded action against Anand and increased security at the hospital, alleging that the MLA, his wife, and armed security personnel forcefully entered the premises, assaulted security personnel, threatened resident doctors, and brandished a gun. Anand stated that he and his wife were visiting a supporter when the security personnel prevented them from entering, leading to an altercation with staff and subsequent injuries. Anand’s mother, Lovely Anand, is a JDU MP from the Shivhar Lok Sabha seat.
