A groom from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, was swindled in Sasaram, Bihar, by a fake bride and her accomplices. The groom, who arrived in Sasaram through a broker for a pre-arranged marriage, had agreed to pay ₹2.5 lakhs. However, the bride and her fake relatives vanished before the wedding ceremony, absconding with ₹2.5 lakhs in cash, jewelry, and gifts. Police are investigating the incident.
Monu Raj Shivhare, from Kailasar, Morena district, Madhya Pradesh, came to Tilauthu, Rohtas district to marry Kajal Kumari. A fake priest performed the marriage in a room at a Dharamshala in Sasaram. The bride fled under the pretext of using the toilet, followed by the bride’s fake uncle, sister, and maternal uncle, who also disappeared with the money. The groom subsequently filed a complaint at the Sasaram Nagar Police Station.
