High Court Overturns SEC Order Removing EBC‑Reserved Panchayat Head

The court set aside the State Election Commission’s order that had dismissed the 2021 elected Mukhiya of Sahuriya Gram Panchayat, Mo Isa, on the ground that he was not a permanent resident of Bihar. The bench found that the SEC had incorrectly applied the 1991 reservation act, which is meant for government posts, to a local election governed by the Panchayat Act.
