India Weather Update: Severe Heatwave Grips UP, MP, and Delhi-NCR

An intense summer spell has engulfed large parts of India, with the IMD sounding alarms for multiple states. In Madhya Pradesh, a heatwave alert has been issued for 20 districts, including Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, and Datia. Khajuraho remains the hottest spot in the state, with temperatures hovering near 44 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, in Bihar, the situation is equally challenging as Patna simmers at 40 degrees. The local weather office has predicted that these conditions will persist for the next four days, accompanied by dry and hot 'loo' winds. However, some relief might be seen in districts like East Champaran and Sitamarhi, where light drizzle is possible. Rajasthan is also bracing for two more days of intense heat before a fresh western disturbance brings potential showers by the weekend. This atmospheric change is expected to lower the mercury significantly across the northern plains by the turn of the month.
