India’s Expressway Revolution: Projects to Slash Travel Times

The landscape of Indian transport is being reshaped by several high-profile expressway projects currently under construction. Among the most anticipated is the Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway, which spans 670 km and is set to drastically improve connectivity for tourists and pilgrims. By providing faster access to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and the Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, this route will bolster the tourism economy of Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. Similarly, in the south, the 258 km Bengaluru–Chennai Expressway is being developed as a high-speed link between two massive technology and industrial powerhouses. These corridors are designed to decongest existing national highways and reduce the carbon footprint by minimizing idling time for heavy vehicles, ensuring a safer and much faster commute for millions of travelers every day.
