Joint operation uncovers forged documents and weapons in MLA's residence amid land conflict

On August 23, police executed a search warrant at the residence of MLA Amit Kumar Ranu after locating him and his brother through mobile‑phone tracking. The raid yielded a partnership agreement, bank‑related paperwork and a blank stamp paper dated 2017, leading to a separate FIR for possession of forged documents and obstruction of police work. In a coordinated sweep across Muzaffarpur and Sitamarhi, officers also seized a pistol, two magazines and nine cartridges from suspect Chotu Yadav, who faces seven criminal charges including robbery, dacoity, extortion, violations of the Arms Act and attempted murder.
