A shocking incident has occurred in Patna, the capital of Bihar. Armed assailants opened fire on a family in the Salimpur area of Patna on Saturday evening. One person died on the spot, while three members of his family sustained serious injuries in the attack. The shooting has created fear and panic in the entire area.
The deceased has been identified as Nilesh Kumar. The incident took place near Shahpur village on the Patna-Bakhitiarpur highway when Nilesh Kumar and his family were returning from a temple after performing a puja for their newly purchased vehicle. Nilesh died instantly after being shot in the indiscriminate firing. His family members fell on the road, covered in blood.
Police took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. The injured were admitted to a hospital. The condition of the injured is reported to be critical.
SDPO Abhishek Singh said that armed criminals arrived in a vehicle and started firing, killing Nilesh on the spot. The attackers fled after the incident. The police reached the spot immediately and took the injured to a nearby hospital. He added that a search for the accused is underway. The family members of the injured have named some suspects. Prima facie, it appears that the incident is due to mutual enmity.
