Market Update: Gold Gains, Silver Climbs – Latest Rates for Major Cities

Gold and silver markets in India turned positive on September 8, with both metals gaining roughly ₹3,000 over the previous day’s dip. The rally comes as the country gears up for the festive buying season.

Internationally, COMEX gold slipped 0.07% to $4,473.50 per ounce, while silver rose 1.01% to $67.425 per ounce. These movements set the tone for domestic pricing, but Indian rates also respond to rupee fluctuations and local demand.

The latest 22‑karat gold price in Delhi, Noida, Lucknow, and Jaipur is ₹1,41,440 per 10 g, with 24‑karat gold at ₹1,54,290. In Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Pune, 22K is ₹1,41,300 and 24K is ₹1,54,140. The 18‑karat segment is trading near ₹11,560 per 10 g across most markets, with minor differences in Ahmedabad, Patna, Bhopal, and Surat.

On the MCX, gold fetched ₹1,53,499 per 10 g, while silver surged to ₹2,40,871 per kilogram, indicating strong market enthusiasm despite the slight dip in global gold.

According to commodity expert Ajay Kedia, the recent US jobs data has reinforced expectations of higher interest rates, keeping investors focused on upcoming PPI and CPI releases for further guidance on the Federal Reserve’s stance.

Consumers are urged to verify the most recent city‑specific rates before purchasing, as variations in taxes, making charges, and dealer premiums can affect the final cost.
