Mass seizure of illegal cartridges in East Champaran

July 2026 saw a major STF operation in the Chakia police circle of East Champaran district. Authorities seized more than 500 partially finished and completed cartridges, along with reloading machines, metal sheets, gunpowder and several chemicals.

Four suspects were taken into custody. The find highlights that the illegal arms network is not limited to pistols or knives; dedicated units also produce ammunition, expanding the scope of illicit manufacturing.
