Global bullion weakness hit Indian markets hard on September 2. MCX gold opened lower by around ₹1,825 per 10-gram, closing near ₹1,49,904. The decline mirrored a 1.28% drop in the U.S. spot price, which fell to $4,340.20 an ounce.
Silver on the MCX slumped by about ₹3,240 per kilogram, trading at ₹2,32,201. Both metals followed the COMEX trend, where silver fell 1.78% to $64.25 an ounce.
Across Indian cities, the 22-carat price stayed in the ₹1.39-₹1.45 lakh range, while 24-carat hovered near ₹1.52 lakh. Buyers are urged to keep an eye on live quotations, as further corrections are possible depending on developments in the U.S. and European markets.
