In Bhagalpur, Bihar, a man is accused of brutally attacking his wife, stabbing her eight times. The victim’s mother has revealed that the husband, a municipal employee, had at least twelve extra-marital affairs. The conflict stemmed from the husband’s demand for 5 lakh rupees, allegedly to open a gym. When the money was not provided, the attack occurred. The incident took place in the Jogser police station area. The injured woman, Sanjula Kumari, was reportedly lured home from picking up her children from school. Once there, she was assaulted by her husband, in-laws, and sister-in-law. They allegedly beat her, attempted to hang her, and then the husband stabbed her multiple times. Sanjula’s brother also reported that his sister had seen the husband with other women in compromising situations and that the husband was seeking a divorce to remarry. The victim’s mother stated that her son-in-law wanted to remarry.
