A sensational case has emerged from Motihari, Bihar. The police have been declaring an accused as a fugitive, prompting court proceedings for property attachment. However, the accused, Purushottam Kumar, has been located by human rights advocate S.K. Jha. The case pertains to the murder of Suresh Singh Mastan in Kundwa Chainpur, Motihari, three years ago. Ten people were implicated in the case, with the Motihari court sentencing five to life imprisonment. Court proceedings are ongoing for the remaining accused.
Kundwa Chainpur police consistently informed the court that Purushottam Kumar was absconding. The court, taking a strict stance, issued orders for property attachment. However, due to police inaction, the proceedings stalled. Advocate S.K. Jha, representing the victim, investigated the whereabouts of the fugitive and discovered that Purushottam Kumar was regularly employed and drawing a salary at the SSB DIG office in Muzaffarpur.
