The Odisha Excise Department concluded its state-wide anti-addiction campaign with a significant Walkathon held on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The campaign, launched on No Tobacco Day (May 31st, 2025), aimed to raise awareness about addiction and combat the use of illicit substances. The Walkathon, which took place early in the morning, covered a 2.3 km distance and saw enthusiastic participation from various groups, including students and civil society organizations. Government officials and cultural figures joined the event, emphasizing the state’s commitment to a substance-free society and celebrating the success of the campaign.
