An unexpected situation has arisen in Bihar, where two women holding Pakistani citizenship have been found listed in the draft voter list in Bhagalpur. It is alleged that these women arrived in India approximately 70 years ago. The matter came to light during a verification process conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs to identify foreign nationals residing in India beyond the permitted visa duration. Investigations by the Ministry of Home Affairs have revealed that voter ID cards were issued in Tank Lane under the names of Imrana Khanam, also known as Imrana Khatoon, wife of Ibtul Hasan, and Firdousia Khanam, wife of Md. Tafjeel Ahmed. The elderly women even underwent verification during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in anticipation of the 2025 assembly elections, and voter ID cards were issued to them.
