A young woman in Patna has filed a case with the women’s police station, alleging love jihad, fraud, assault, and forced religious conversion against a PG student from NMCH. The woman claims the man, initially posing as a Hindu named ‘Sonu,’ lured her into a relationship, made promises of marriage, and later pressured her to convert to Islam. She alleges he hid his true identity for three years, offered prayers at a Chhath festival to gain her trust, and after revealing his identity, subjected her to abuse and coercion, including forcing her to eat beef and participate in Islamic practices. The accused later married another woman, and the victim was allegedly assaulted by his family when she confronted them. Despite reporting the incident on June 14, the FIR was registered on June 19, with charges of rape, fraud, and kidnapping, but not including sections related to love jihad. Police are investigating the matter.
