Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the State Jeevika Nidhi Credit Cooperative Union Limited for women in Bihar via video conferencing. During the event, PM Modi criticized the Congress and RJD, stating that the abuse directed at his mother from their platform hurt every mother in Bihar.
Speaking about the scheme, PM Modi highlighted the new financial accessibility for women in Bihar, particularly those associated with Jeevika, providing easier access to funds for their work. He emphasized the digital nature of the Jeevika Nidhi system.
The Prime Minister underscored the pivotal role of women in a developed India and the importance of easing their hardships. He mentioned the construction of millions of toilets and houses under the PM Awas Yojana, and the government’s free ration scheme, which has alleviated concerns about feeding children. He also mentioned initiatives like Lakhpati Didi, Drone Didi, and Bank Sakhi to increase women’s income, viewing these as significant efforts to serve mothers and sisters. He added that the NDA government in Bihar would intensify this campaign in the coming months.
Discussing the respect for mothers, PM Modi pointed out that Bihar has always held mothers in high regard, especially with the upcoming Navratri festival, where the nine forms of the mother goddess are worshipped. He emphasized that the dignity and respect of mothers are a top priority for his government.
PM Modi stated, “The mindset that abuses the mother, the mindset that abuses the sister, considers women to be weak. This mindset considers women to be objects of exploitation and oppression.”
He then addressed the RJD-Congress, reflecting on the recent events in Bihar where his mother was allegedly abused from their platform. He clarified that this abuse was not just an insult to his mother but to the mothers, sisters, and daughters of the nation. He acknowledged the pain felt by the people of Bihar, sharing that his sorrow mirrors theirs. He noted his commitment to serving the country for 50-55 years, emphasizing his mother’s support and role in his life.
He stated, “These ‘yuvraaj’ born in royal families cannot understand the ‘tapasya’ of a poor mother and the pain of her son. They were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. They think that the power of the country and of Bihar is the legacy”
PM Modi questioned the actions, asking what wrong his mother, who has no involvement in politics and has passed away, had committed to deserve such abuse. He claimed that these insults were directed toward millions of mothers and sisters. He pointed out that those born into royal families could not understand the struggles of a poor mother and her son. He added that these individuals, born with privilege, perceive power as their family’s inheritance. He urged the people to demand answers from the RJD-Congress leaders.
