RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has reshuffled his team in Bihar, signaling preparations for the upcoming assembly elections. After being elected as the party president for the thirteenth time, Yadav announced the formation of a new National Executive Committee. Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi has been appointed as the party’s vice-president, while Jagdanand Singh, the former RJD state president, has been given a significant role. This move by the RJD supremo is seen as a strategic decision ahead of the elections.
Jagdanand Singh, the immediate past Bihar state RJD president, has been assigned a national-level responsibility, becoming a national vice-president. Mehboob Ali Kaiser and Uday Narayan Chaudhary have also been appointed as national vice-presidents. Notably, Shivanand Tiwari, who previously held a national vice-president position, has been removed from the team.
In a notification released on Saturday, other members and positions within the party were also detailed. Abdul Bari Siddiqui will serve as the Secretary-General, while Sunil Kumar Singh is the National Treasurer. Furthermore, Jayaprakash Narayan Yadav, Dr. Neel Lohit Das, Bhola Yadav, Lalit Kumar Yadav, Kumar Sarvjeet, Syed Faisal Ali, Abhay Singh, Sukhdev Paswan, Sushila Murale, Anu Chako, Binu Yadav, and Renu Kushwaha have been appointed as General Secretaries.
Yaduvansh Kumar Yadav, Dr. Lal Ratnakar, Bharat Bhushan Mandal, Kartikey Kumar Singh, Vijay Verma, Santosh Kumar Jaiswal, Sanjay Thakur, Rajendra Ram, Sweety Seema Hembram, and Surendra Ram have been appointed as Secretaries.
Additionally, appointments for the national presidents of various cells were also made. According to the party’s notification, appointments were made for the National Women’s Cell, National Youth Cell, National Minority Cell, National Scheduled Castes and Tribes Cell, National Farmers’ Cell, and National Students’ Cell.
Former Union Minister and senior RJD leader Kanti Singh has been appointed as the president of the National Women’s Cell. Abhay Kushwaha, a Member of Parliament from Aurangabad, has been given the responsibility of the National Youth Cell. Similarly, former Union Minister Mohammad Ali Ashraf Fatmi has been nominated as the president of the National Minority Cell, while Shivchandra Ram, a former minister in the Bihar government, will be the president of the National Scheduled Castes and Tribes Cell.
Furthermore, Lalu Prasad appointed Sudhakar Singh, the Member of Parliament from Buxar, as the president of the National Farmers’ Cell. Sudhakar Singh is the son of Jagdanand Singh, a senior RJD leader and former state president. Professor Naval Kishore has been appointed as the president of the National Students’ Cell.
Earlier, on July 5th, Lalu Prasad Yadav was elected as the party’s national president in the RJD National Executive meeting. This announcement of the new team came 20 days later. Notably, a professor has been appointed as the president of the party’s student cell this time. Professor Naval Kishore Yadav is a teacher by profession and has been entrusted with the responsibility of the National Students’ Cell.
