Ahead of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, RJD MLA and former minister, Alok Mehta, encountered a hostile reception from residents of his constituency. The incident occurred when Mehta visited the Mahadalit Tola in Raipur Panchayat, Samastipur district. A visibly irate individual publicly criticized Mehta, accusing him of inaction and labeling him a disgrace to the party. The individual expressed their frustration, stating that Mehta had neglected the community for five years and was only appearing now that elections were approaching. A video of the confrontation quickly went viral on social media, showing the angry resident confronting the MLA, who in turn, requested that the video not be recorded. Mehta was forced to leave the area amidst the rising tensions. Mehta is a prominent figure in the RJD, and has previously served as a minister in the state government.
