Saran Shooting: Bihar Youth Critical After Head Injury

A shooting incident has been reported from Mashrakh in Bihar's Saran district, where a youth was shot in the head in public view. The incident occurred in Brahimpur Gopi Mahuari Tola village. Because of the seriousness of the injury, the victim was moved from Siwan Sadar Hospital to Gorakhpur, where he is currently receiving treatment and remains in a grave condition.

The victim is 21-year-old Priyanshu Kumar Singh, also called Sintu. He is the son of Sanjeev Kumar Singh and belongs to the same village. While receiving treatment, he identified the alleged shooter as Viku. The family has recorded a video related to the incident.

Priyanshu's uncle, Roshan Kumar, said his nephew is studying BBA in Patna and had come home during the Durga Puja break. After the festival, some village boys invited him to a party. At about 1 a.m., those boys arrived at the house and told the family that he had been shot. He was taken to Siwan, and after doctors noted the head injury and critical state, he was referred to Gorakhpur for better care.

SP (Rural) Sanjay Kumar and DSP Sanjay Kumar Sudhanshu reached the village with a large police contingent and are conducting an investigation. The DSP said the exact spot where the firing took place has not been verified yet. The village is on the boundary of Saran and Siwan districts, so police from both are inquiring into the matter. Family members have been interrogated, and the probe is continuing in depth.
