September 3 Fuel Prices Remain Stable; Government Raises Export Tax

The official fuel price list for September 3 indicates that the retail values of petrol and diesel have not shifted across the country. Crude oil prices linger above the $95 per barrel level, yet the state‑run marketers have opted to keep consumer rates unchanged.

Port Blair offers the lowest prices at Rs 88.66 per litre for petrol and Rs 84.56 for diesel. The Delhi market distinguishes three ethanol blends: plain petrol at Rs 167.35, E5 at Rs 109.24 and E20 at Rs 102.12 per litre.

A detailed city‑wise breakdown shows Noida’s petrol at Rs 101.96 and diesel at Rs 95.44; Lucknow at Rs 101.86 and Rs 95.36; New Delhi at Rs 102.12 and Rs 95.20; Mumbai at Rs 111.21 and Rs 97.83; Kolkata at Rs 113.51 and Rs 99.82. Other metros—Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Gurugram, Jaipur, Pune, Chandigarh, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram—report similar ranges.

On the policy front, the government increased the windfall tax on fuel exports, raising the charge on petrol exports to Rs 1.5 per litre and on diesel exports to Rs 25 per litre. Officials say the measure targets export revenues and is not expected to ripple through domestic pricing.

LPG and CNG rates also held their ground. Delhi’s 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder remains Rs 942, while the 19 kg commercial cylinder is Rs 2,747.50. CNG in Delhi NCR is priced at Rs 86.98 per kilogram, unchanged from the last revision.
