Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj has entered the political arena in Bihar, announcing his active participation in the state’s elections. During his visit to Bihar, specifically in Bihta, he addressed the controversial ‘I Love Mahadev’ and ‘I Love Muhammad’ slogans that have gained attention nationwide. The Shankaracharya stated that the controversy was initiated to distract the public from genuine issues. He questioned whether Mahadev is a subject of worship or love, calling the latter an insult to Mahadev. He mentioned not knowing about Muhammad and said it was beyond his purview to comment on him. Furthermore, he added that those who believe in Muhammad might know about him, but claiming ‘I love Mahadev’ is disrespectful, and using such language is against traditional religious views.
