In Samastipur, Bihar, a man recently released from jail was fatally shot. Unidentified criminals unleashed a barrage of approximately 12 bullets, ensuring the victim’s death before fleeing the scene. The incident, which occurred on Thursday afternoon, has ignited fear throughout the area. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
According to initial reports, chaos erupted in the Sitanpur village of Ujiarpur police station area on Thursday afternoon. The victim, identified as Vikram Giri, was targeted by assailants who fired multiple shots. The attack, which involved a series of bullets fired over several minutes, created a sense of terror in the vicinity. The deceased was a resident of Madhopur village.
Motorcycle-borne assailants ambushed Vikram near his home. The attackers encircled Vikram before opening fire. Once they confirmed his death, they escaped the scene.
Vikram was reportedly involved in criminal activities. He had been released on bail from jail in connection to a murder case. He was also identified as a key suspect in the high-profile killing of furniture businessman Nepali Chaudhary. Vikram had a long history of involvement in criminal cases.
Upon receiving the information, police from Dalsinghsarai and Ujiarpur police stations rushed to the spot. The police sent Vikram’s body for a post-mortem examination and are actively pursuing the criminals. They are also reviewing the victim’s past criminal records and examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area. Police are investigating all aspects of the case.
