Signature Roads to Transform Bihar’s Towns with World‑Class Amenities
Under the new urban development blueprint, every municipal corporation, council and panchayat in Bihar will receive at least one "Signature Road" stretching one to two kilometres. These corridors are more than just transport routes; they are intended to become the hallmark of each town’s modern identity.
The design calls for broad lanes, continuous green strips, and a series of eco‑friendly features such as rainwater harvesting pits, solar‑powered streetlights and dust‑free zones. Public amenities will include well‑maintained walking paths, segregated bicycle lanes, open‑air fitness equipment, and shaded seating areas. Security will be bolstered with high‑definition CCTV cameras, smart poles and digital signboards providing real‑time updates.
Additional provisions cover 24‑hour sanitation services, modern public toilets, drinking water kiosks, and ramps for differently‑abled citizens. Where space permits, night markets and food courts will be set up, complete with children’s play zones, selfie corners and murals that celebrate regional art.
The comprehensive approach seeks to raise the quality of life, attract private investment, and place Bihar’s cities on the map as examples of sustainable, people‑centric urban planning.
