Student rallies block CM House, police confront demonstrators

On Tuesday, a large crowd of candidates marched from Gandhi Maidan toward the Chief Minister’s residence, carrying the national flag despite heavy rain.

Police forces attempted to contain the march at JP Golambar, but several protesters broke through barricades, diverting onto alternate routes. Some even tried to obstruct railway tracks, prompting a swift police response and the arrest of several participants.

The demonstration comes after the state government ordered an investigation into the alleged irregularities of the BPSC and BPSSC exams, a probe now being handled by the Economic Offences Division.

The clash underscores the growing frustration among aspirants who feel the examination system lacks integrity and accountability.
