Following a decision made at the 56th meeting of the GST Council on September 3rd, the central government implemented reductions in GST rates on certain dairy products starting September 22nd. In accordance with this, the Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation Limited (COMFED) has adjusted the prices of various dairy and dairy-based products under the Sudha brand. This move aims to provide direct financial relief to consumers.
In the butter category, the price of Table Butter has been reduced from ₹32 to ₹31 for a 50-gram pack, from ₹56 to ₹55 for a 100-gram pack, and from ₹275 to ₹270 for a 500-gram pack.
Consumers will also benefit from price reductions in the paneer category. Paneer will now be available at ₹46 instead of ₹47 for 100 grams, ₹85 instead of ₹90 for 200 grams, and ₹205 instead of ₹210 for 500 grams.
Among milk products, Tetra Pack Toned Milk (1000 ml) has been reduced from ₹74 to ₹73, and Tetra Pack D.T.M. Milk (1000 ml) from ₹70 to ₹68. Similarly, the price of Alester Toned Milk has decreased: 200 ml from ₹15 to ₹14, 500 ml from ₹33 to ₹32, and 1000 ml from ₹64 to ₹63. Alester Standard Milk (500 ml) will now be available at ₹34 instead of ₹35.
Significant reductions have also been made in the ghee category. Special Pouch Ghee (200 ml) is now priced at ₹143, down from ₹145; 500 ml at ₹315, down from ₹320; Special Tetra Pack Ghee (500 ml) at ₹325, down from ₹330; and 1000 ml at ₹630, down from ₹640. Additionally, Special Tin Pack Ghee (1 kg) will be sold at ₹640 instead of ₹650.
Some products currently available in the market still bear the old packaging with the previously marked MRP. Consumers are assured that all such products will be sold at the newly revised rates. Therefore, consumers are requested to inquire about the new rates from the shopkeeper while making purchases.
