Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced a significant move regarding the domicile policy, stating that the Education Department has been instructed to make necessary amendments to the relevant rules to prioritize residents of Bihar (DOMICILE) in the recruitment of teachers. This will be implemented starting from TRE-4. Following this announcement, RJD leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, has criticized the move. He questioned how the Chief Minister feels about copying and mimicking the opposition’s announcements.
In a post on the social media platform X, Tejashwi Yadav stated that it is a matter of great joy that the ideologically bankrupt NDA government, which initially rejected the demand for implementing a domicile policy in Bihar and boasted of not implementing it under any circumstances in the House, is now copying this announcement, just like it has copied other schemes of ours.
In the same post, the RJD leader stated that it is clear that this 20-year-old copycat NDA government has no policy, vision, or insight of its own. He added that the people of Bihar are happy to see a government that has not figured out what to do in 20 years, dancing to the tunes of our suggestions, demands, and announcements.
He further added that this fear of the opposition is a good thing. Whether it is social security pension, free electricity units, government jobs, salaries of cooks, night watchmen and physical education and health instructors, increase in honorarium of ASHA and Mamta workers, formation of a youth commission, or the subject of one crore jobs, this tired and outdated government of 20 years has copied every announcement, scheme, vision, and demand of ours and made these announcements in a hurry in the election year. This fear of the opposition is a good thing.
Announcing the domicile policy, the CM said that since the formation of the government in November 2005, we have been continuously working to improve the education system. A large number of teachers have been appointed to strengthen the education system. The Education Department has been instructed to make necessary amendments to the relevant rules to give priority to the residents of Bihar in the recruitment of teachers.
The CM announced that this will be implemented from TRE-4 itself. TRE-4 will be held in the year 2025 and TRE-5 will be held in the year 2026. It has also been directed to conduct STET before the TRE-5.
