Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav narrowly escaped a car accident on Saturday morning. A speeding truck collided with two vehicles in his convoy near Goraul, Vaishali district, while he was returning to Patna from a political rally in Madhepura. The convoy had stopped for a brief tea break on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway around 12:30 AM. Yadav was a short distance away when the truck hit the stationary vehicles of his security detail. Fortunately, his personal vehicle was not struck, and he was unharmed. Three security officials were injured in the crash and immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Yadav visited them after the incident, expressing concern for their well-being. The injured officials are now in stable condition, though they sustained bruises and minor fractures. Local police arrested the truck driver at the scene and impounded the truck. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, with initial reports suggesting speeding or driver fatigue as potential factors. The incident has reignited concerns regarding the safety of political figures traveling long distances on Bihar’s roads, particularly at night. RJD supporters took to social media, expressing relief and calling for improved road safety and traffic rule enforcement. Party leaders have also demanded a thorough review of VIP security protocols on the road, especially in conditions of poor visibility and challenging road conditions. Tejashwi Yadav, known for his active political life and extensive travel throughout Bihar, has resumed his schedule and reassured supporters of his safety.
