Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav narrowly escaped a collision on Saturday morning when a speeding truck struck two vehicles in his convoy near Goraul, Vaishali district. The incident occurred while Yadav was en route back to Patna from a political rally in Madhepura. The convoy had stopped for a brief tea break along the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway around 12:30 AM. While Yadav was away from the vehicles, the truck crashed into the stationary security vehicles. Fortunately, Yadav’s personal vehicle was untouched, and he was unharmed. Three security personnel were injured in the crash and promptly taken to a nearby hospital. Yadav visited them after the accident, inquiring about their well-being and showing concern for their injuries. The injured officials are now in stable condition, though they sustained bruises and minor fractures. The truck driver was apprehended at the scene, and the vehicle was impounded. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, with some reports suggesting potential factors like speeding or driver fatigue. The incident has reignited safety concerns regarding the security of political figures during long-distance travel on Bihar’s roads, particularly late at night. RJD supporters expressed relief on social media, while others called for improved road safety measures and stricter traffic rule enforcement. Party leaders have urged a thorough review of VIP security protocols, especially under conditions of poor visibility and road hazards. Tejashwi Yadav, known for his active political life and extensive travel throughout Bihar, has resumed his regular activities and assured his supporters of his safety.
