Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav narrowly avoided injury in a car accident on Saturday morning. A speeding truck collided with two vehicles in his convoy near Goraul, Vaishali district, while he was returning to Patna after a political event in Madhepura. The convoy had stopped for a tea break on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway around 12:30 AM when the incident occurred. Yadav, who was a short distance away, was unharmed. However, three security officials sustained injuries and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Yadav visited the injured officials and inquired about their condition. The injured officials are now stable, although they sustained bruises and minor fractures. The truck driver was apprehended at the scene, and the vehicle was seized. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, with reports suggesting potential factors like speeding or driver fatigue. The incident has reignited concerns about the safety of political figures traveling long distances in Bihar, especially during nighttime. RJD supporters expressed relief on social media, while others called for improved road safety measures and stricter traffic rule enforcement. Party leaders have also urged a thorough review of VIP security protocols, particularly considering low visibility and driving behavior on roads. Tejashwi Yadav, known for his active political schedule, has resumed his routine and assured supporters of his safety.
