Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav narrowly escaped a serious car accident on Saturday morning when a speeding truck collided with his convoy in Vaishali district. The incident occurred near Goraul while Yadav was en route back to Patna after a political event in Madhepura. The convoy had stopped for a brief tea break along the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway around 12:30 AM. While Yadav was a short distance away, having tea, the truck struck the stationary vehicles of his security detail. Thankfully, Yadav’s personal vehicle was not hit, and he was unharmed. Three security personnel sustained injuries and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Yadav visited them to check on their condition. The injured officials are now reported to be stable, though they suffered bruises and minor fractures. The truck driver was apprehended at the scene, and the vehicle was impounded. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, with reports suggesting potential factors such as speeding or driver fatigue. The incident has reignited concerns about the safety of political figures traveling long distances on Bihar’s roads, especially late at night. Party leaders have called for a comprehensive review of VIP security protocols, particularly in challenging conditions like poor visibility. Yadav has resumed his activities and reassured his supporters of his well-being.
