From Vaishali to Bhagalpur: Bihar’s Collapsing Infrastructure

Recent bridge collapses have spanned the entire state, from a half‑finished overpass in Vaishali that injured seven laborers, to the historic Vikramshila Setu in Bhagalpur, where a weakened pillar caused a large section of the bridge to plunge into the river. Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav has publicly blamed corruption, sub‑standard construction materials, and lax inspections for the string of failures. He argues that the current administration’s disregard for engineering standards is the root cause, and calls for an independent audit of all ongoing bridge projects.
