A video depicting a man waving a Palestinian flag and shouting provocative slogans at the Bhagalpur railway station in Bihar has gone viral on social media. The incident has prompted local authorities and the police to launch an investigation. The video shows a young man standing on a parcel trolley while others below are chanting contentious slogans. The man in the video is wearing a kurta-pyjama and a head covering. He is seen atop a parcel trolley at the station, waving a Palestinian flag and shouting slogans such as “Palestine Zindabad” and “Israel Murdabad.” Objectionable slogans like ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ were also raised in the video, intensifying the sensitivity of the situation. The authenticity of the viral video has not been officially confirmed.
The video is reportedly uploaded from an Instagram ID named ‘Arman Hussain’. This account also features a video of the same individual interacting with Rahul Gandhi. The exact timing of when the controversial video was recorded remains unconfirmed.
Police have initiated an investigation into the video. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Bhagalpur, Hridayakant, stated that the matter is being thoroughly investigated. The police intend to identify the man and determine his motives. He stated that any action that disrupts social harmony will not be tolerated.
Former Union Minister Ashwini Choubey has reacted sharply to the incident, stating that such elements pose a threat to the country’s unity and integrity. He described the waving of the Palestinian flag as unfortunate, alleging it was a conspiracy to disrupt social harmony. Recalling the 1989 Bhagalpur riots, Choubey labeled it a pre-planned political move and suggested that it could be the work of Congress and RJD supporters. The police are currently searching for the individual and conducting a detailed investigation. The administration has appealed to the public to maintain peace.
