A shocking case has emerged from Patna, Bihar, where a woman has accused her husband of egregious acts. The woman alleges that her husband created a fake Facebook ID in the name of his mother and used it to share private videos of her. She also accuses him of physical abuse and attempts on her life. The victim, a 26-year-old from Patna, was married six years ago to a man from Samastipur.
The woman shared that during their marriage, her husband was presented as the owner of a five-star hotel, but in reality, he had only completed the 10th grade. She, on the other hand, had a B.Com degree. She revealed that her husband was addicted to betting on IPL matches, which led to the destruction of their settled life. She detailed the financial strain caused by his gambling.
She explained that her husband took out loans in her name shortly after their wedding. Initially, he took a loan of 35,000 rupees, followed by 1 lakh, and then 30,000 rupees. He used these funds for betting on cricket matches. In 2021, they had a daughter. The husband even gambled away the money received as blessings for their daughter.
When the wife’s attempts to reason with her husband failed, she moved back to her parents’ home for a while. Upon her return, the husband demanded 1 lakh rupees to allow her back into their home. A community panchayat intervened, attempting to resolve the situation. However, after a period of apparent calm, the husband resumed his physical abuse.
During this time, a neighbor, a young man named Aman Kumar, started helping her. He secretly provided her with food and brought milk for her daughter. This led to a friendship between the woman and the young man.
The woman reported that during this period, her husband attempted to kill her. After she raised an alarm, neighbors gathered, including Aman. Aman, witnessing the husband’s actions, became enraged. He offered to take her to her mother. The husband then accused his wife of having an affair with Aman, to which Aman responded in anger, admitting to the affair.
The husband then demanded that if they were having an affair, they should marry in front of society or else he would bury them both alive. Subsequently, he forced another man to apply sindoor to her forehead. After this incident, the woman went to live with her parents. Some time later, the husband contacted her mother, asking her to collect the daughter’s belongings and jewelry.
When the mother visited the husband’s house, the husband physically assaulted her, even choking her and seizing her phone. Further escalating the situation, he created a fake Facebook account in her mother’s name and shared their private videos. The woman filed a case in the cybercrime police station in June and an FIR was registered. Her husband was arrested but released after three days. Subsequently, a civil court case was filed. The matter is currently pending in the Patna High Court, with the next hearing scheduled for November 11th. Meanwhile, the husband now claims he wants to live with his wife and daughter, and does not want a divorce.
