A horrific case of domestic violence has emerged from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, where a husband subjected his wife to brutal torture. The man allegedly inserted chili powder into her private parts, burned her with a hot iron, and attempted to electrocute her. The incident occurred in the Devariya Kothi area of Muzaffarpur district.
The woman is in critical condition and is receiving treatment in a hospital. Police have arrested the accused husband, identified as Shatrughna Rai (40), based on the victim’s complaint. The woman alleges that her husband, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law were all involved in the abuse. She filed a case against all of them at the Devariya police station.
According to the victim, the husband’s cruelty stemmed from his suspicion of her alleged illicit relationship with a man from their village. The woman, a mother of three, stated that her husband, who runs a cosmetics shop, brutally assaulted her on June 13. He tied her hands and feet and attempted to strangle her. She further revealed that her husband branded her thighs and private parts and locked her in a room without food for two days. The in-laws did not offer any assistance.
Neighbors alerted the police about the abuse. On June 15, the victim’s brother came to her in-laws’ house and took her to the hospital. The police have confirmed the arrest of the husband and are searching for other family members involved in the case.
