The ancient town of Rajgir is buzzing with anticipation as it gears up to launch the month-long Malmas Mela on 17 May 2026. Every corner of the Brahmakund precinct has been meticulously cleaned, illuminated, and adorned with floral arrangements to welcome lakhs of pilgrims. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary will inaugurate the fair in a grand ceremony at the Yagya Shala, accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Vijendra Prasad Yadav along with several state ministers and local legislators. This visit holds special significance as it will be the Chief Minister’s maiden engagement in Rajgir after taking oath. The 30-day event promises a daily schedule of ritual baths, temple visits, and charitable activities at all seven sacred ponds. Morning aarti will commence at 6:30 a.m. on the first day, followed by the flag-hoisting ritual and evening mahaaarti at Saraswati Kund.
