In a significant development, four shooters linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang have been apprehended by Punjab Police following a dramatic encounter in Dera Bassi, Mohali. The operation, led by encounter specialist Vikram Barad, took place near Steel Strips Towers on the Dera Bassi–Ambala highway. Two of the arrested individuals sustained bullet injuries during the exchange of fire, with one in critical condition. The police reported that approximately 15 rounds were fired by both sides. Fortunately, police personnel involved were protected by their bulletproof jackets. The apprehended shooters were operatives of gangster Goldy Dhillon, who is believed to be operating from abroad. Authorities seized a cache of weapons, including seven .32 calibre pistols and 70 live cartridges, from the site. Preliminary investigations suggest the gang was planning coordinated attacks across the Tricity and Patiala regions. Authorities are also investigating the suspected origins of the recovered weapons, with initial theories pointing towards Pakistani involvement and drone deliveries to the gang in Punjab. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of their plans and network.
